About the job
Novela is making its first hire beyond the founders: a Growth & Operations Executive.
This is a hands-on role at the centre of the business. You'll own our marketing execution and our customer operations, working directly with the founder. The job in one sentence: take a half-formed brief and come back with the thing done. We're a three-person company, so AI and automation aren't a perk here — they're how a small team does the work of a much larger one.
What you'll own
Marketing and growth
Email marketing — campaigns and our newsletter to marketing professors
Social media — scheduling and posting across channels
Lead generation — research, list-building, outreach and qualifying replies
Webinars — organised and run end to end
Customer operations
Class launches — getting professors fully set up before their courses go live
First-line support — fielding routine questions from professors and students
Renewals and contracts — tracking what's due, getting agreements signed
CRM — keeping HubSpot accurate and useful
What we're looking for
We want a smart doer — someone who takes pride in getting things to run well and brings better ways of working without being asked.
You act without being asked — you spot the gap and you fix it. This is the one we screen hardest for.
Fluent with AI and automation — not "I've used ChatGPT," but reaching for it by default to draft, research and automate the repetitive work, and knowing where it breaks and checking its output.
One-to-three years in a fast-moving environment — a startup, agency or similar — in a coordination, marketing or operations role.
University degree required.
Organised, with strong written English — you'll be writing to professors from week one.
Quick with tools — we use HubSpot, Zoho and the usual schedulers.
The package
£32,000–38,000 depending on experience, plus share options
Remote-first (UK), with a couple of days a month together in London
Full-time, starting summer 2026
You must have the right to work in the UK; as a small company, we can't offer visa sponsorship.
How to apply
No cover letter. Send your CV to [email protected] and, in a few lines, two things: one idea you'd try in your first few weeks to help us reach more marketing professors, and how you use AI day to day — including where it's let you down.
