About the job

About Us

We're building the intelligence layer for SMB acquisitions.

Buying a small business today is fragmented, manual, and painfully inefficient. Buyers spend countless hours sourcing deals, evaluating opportunities, chasing information, and building conviction with incomplete data. We're building an SMB deal intelligence platform that helps buyers intelligently source, evaluate, and diligence acquisition opportunities faster — saving time, improving decision quality, and giving them the tools they need to move with confidence.

As a Summer Associate, you'll work directly with the founders and gain exposure to startup building across product, strategy, partnerships, operations, and technology.

What You'll Learn

This program is designed to provide hands-on exposure to early-stage startup operations and technology company building. Associates will have opportunities to:

Conduct market and industry research on SMB acquisitions, search funds, ETA (Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition), and adjacent markets
Analyze competitors, industry trends, and emerging opportunities
Assist with partnership research and business development initiatives
Participate in product planning and roadmap discussions
Collaborate with product, engineering, and leadership teams on special projects
Support customer discovery and user feedback initiatives
Develop presentations, operational frameworks, and internal processes
Gain exposure to startup strategy, fundraising, growth, and company building

Ideal Candidate

Current undergraduate, graduate, MBA student, or recent graduate
Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Interest in startups, entrepreneurship, acquisitions, private equity, search funds, SaaS, or technology
Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple workstreams
Self-starter who enjoys learning and taking initiative
Comfortable working in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment

What You'll Gain

Direct mentorship from founding team
Exposure to building a startup from the ground up
Experience working alongside product and engineering teams
Participation in strategic business discussions
Ownership of meaningful research and special projects
A strong foundation in startups, technology, and acquisitions

Location

Houston, TX (hybrid/remote - flexible)

Duration

8-week Summer Program

Time Commitment

Summer Associates should expect to dedicate approximately 20–30 hours per week throughout the program, with flexibility based on academic schedules and project needs.

What You'll Gain:

Access to real startup decision-making, including product, growth, partnerships, and acquisition strategy discussions.

Compensation

$1,000 stipend for the duration of the program.

Additional Information

This role is designed as a learning and professional development opportunity with direct exposure to startup operations, product development, and company building.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. The company participates in E-Verify and will complete employment eligibility verification requirements in accordance with federal law.

Depending on company needs, business growth, and mutual fit, outstanding Summer Associate(s) may be considered for extended internships, part-time roles, or longer-term opportunities following completion of the program.

How to Apply

Please apply through Wellfound with your resume and a short note (no more than 3 paragraphs) explaining why you're interested in startups, SMB acquisitions, entrepreneurship through acquisition (ETA), technology, or company building.
