Data Engineer for Social Good

At Give Lively, we build better fundraising tech for nonprofits and give it away for free. We help nonprofits like Malala Fund, Every Mother Counts, and Trans Lifeline to raise more for their cause.
As an Analytics Engineer you will define and implement Give Lively’s data warehouse architecture. You will verify our existing data collection strategy. You will architect and implement our data warehouse infrastructure to reliably move and store data. You will be responsible for taking our existing data collection and transformation layer and maturing it into a scalable, high-trust environment.
We are seeking an analytics engineer for a temporary role, with the strong potential to transition into a permanent position based on performance and business needs.

What You Will Do

Architect & Implement: Define and implement the data warehouse architecture to reliably move, store, and transform data from disparate sources (Intercom, Google Analytics, QuickSuite, etc.).
Refactor for Scale: Audit existing SQL queries, migrating them into clean, modular, and version-controlled models in DBT.
Verify & Validate: Implement a data testing strategy to ensure our metrics are accurate, resilient, and "fail-loudly" rather than silently.
Data Integrity: collaborate with Senior Data Analyst to identify and fix infrastructure gaps ensuring an accurate single source of truth.
Modernize Tooling: Evaluate and implement low-upkeep ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Airbyte/Fivetran) to streamline our data pipeline.

What we value in an Analytics Engineer:

• BS in Data Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent practical expertise in data engineering
• 3+ years experience in building and deploying a successful data pipeline and storage environment
• Significant expertise in data analysis and/or data modeling
• Experience with ETL Tools and cloud data warehouses
• Strong knowledge of SQL
• A passion towards a philanthropic mission
• A conviction and commitment to improve your own skills and the skills of the team
• A passion for building the best products for users
• Experience with AWS QuickSuite is a plus
• Knowledge of DBT is a plus
