About the job
About Synergy Management Group (SMG):
Synergy Management Group (SMG) is an elite, full-service consulting firm that partners with institutional investors, portfolio companies, and growing businesses. We specialize in sourcing, due diligence, operations/value creation, and strategic exits, working exclusively with top-tier private equity and venture capital clients. SMG has a proven track record of successful engagements with firms managing over $100B in assets.
After a brief pause in operations due to unforeseen personal matters, we are now in a re-launch phase, focusing on expanding SMG's reputation through strategic hires and key partnerships to drive future growth and success. Our previous engagements with top institutional investors and firms have validated our unique business model and product-market fit. We are now looking to scale and expand our operations with a fresh capital raise to accelerate business development.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Investment Banker to lead a seed-stage capital raise ($250K–$500K) as we scale SMG’s infrastructure and services. This role involves developing investor materials, reaching out to high-net-worth investors, and managing the capital raise process, all in direct collaboration with the CEO. This is a remote position with a flexible schedule, offering a success-fee compensation structure with the potential for equity participation based on milestones.
Responsibilities:
Lead Capital Raise: Spearhead a seed-stage fundraising round, managing the entire process from investor material development to closing deals.
Investor Outreach & Negotiation: Target and engage elite, high-net-worth investors. Present investment opportunities and negotiate deal terms.
Develop Investor Materials: Refine and leverage SMG’s existing assets and marketing material to create a compelling investor package (pitch deck, use of proceeds, financials, etc.).
Strategic Planning: Define strategy for fundraising, including identifying the right investors and optimal deal structures.
Collaborate with the CEO: Work directly with the CEO to ensure alignment on goals, strategy, and progress through the fundraising cycle.
Requirements:
Experience: 10+ years in angel, VC, or PE capital markets, with a proven track record of successfully raising capital (ideally $500K–$5M) for early-stage, high-caliber companies.
Network: Extensive connections to elite, high-net-worth investors.
Licensing: Active SEC/FINRA broker-dealer licenses in good standing.
Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. A self-starter who can independently manage the capital raise process and work closely with the CEO.
Transparency: Ability to navigate a re-launch phase of a previously paused business, understanding the dynamics of a startup with validated market fit.
Compensation:
Compensation: Success-fee based, with the potential for equity participation contingent on fundraising milestones.
Why Join SMG?
Elite Clientele: Past engagements with top institutional investors managing over $100B in assets.
Proven Product-Market Fit: Validation from prior high-value engagements in the consulting space, demonstrating our ability to deliver top-tier services and results.
World-Class Team: Work alongside consultants with leadership experience from top firms such as McKinsey, Bain, PwC, EY, Carlyle, Deloitte, and KPMG.
Growth Opportunity: We are at a critical juncture in our re-launch and scaling, providing a unique opportunity to be part of an ambitious growth phase with strong market validation.
Additional Information:
Remote Role: This position is fully remote, with flexible working hours.
Interview Process: Initial interviews will be conducted via video conference.
Transparency in Process: As part of our re-launch, we value open communication about our growth phase and the unique opportunities it brings.
