About the role
Roku seeks an experienced and visionary Director of Business Planning to lead and optimize supply chain and planning functions. Based in Austin, TX, this role is critical to ensuring seamless integration between product development, procurement, and distribution. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in transforming organizations, driving cross-functional collaboration, and implementing digital solutions while delivering customer-centric strategies to enhance market penetration and margin expansion.
What you'll be doing
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive finished goods and material planning strategy aligned with Roku’s growth objectives.
- Lead the cross-functional Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, driving collaboration across Operations, Sales, Finance, and Accounting.
- Focus on strategies that enhance market penetration and support margin expansion while maintaining operational efficiency.
Forecast Accuracy & S&OP Process Development:
- Build and continuously improve demand forecasting capabilities to enhance accuracy and alignment with market trends and customer needs.
- Administrate the data collection process for the sales forecast, providing validation tools to Sales Management to ensure accuracy.
- Develop a robust, cross-functional S&OP process to integrate sales, finance, logistics, and operations for effective decision-making.
Customer-Centric Approach:
- Drive Collaborative Planning, Forecasting, and Replenishment (CPFR) activities with the Sales team and customer base.
- Engage with customers to align forecasts, improve demand sensing, and optimize supply capabilities.
- Embed a customer-first mindset in planning processes to exceed customer expectations.
Cross-Functional Engagement:
- Partner with Sales, Finance, and Accounting to create demand-driven supply strategies, achieve financial planning goals, and support shipment targets.
- Collaborate with logistics to improve supply chain responsiveness and delivery performance.
Inventory & Fulfillment Optimization:
- Oversee inventory levels, ensure quarterly targets are met, and drive continuous improvement in predictability and flexibility.
- Maintain real-time Available to Promise (ATP) reporting and oversee product allocation processes.
- Provide ongoing reporting on inventory availability and quarter-ending goals.
Operational Excellence:
- Oversee planning processes, including demand forecasting, supply planning, and inventory management, to optimize production and minimize risks.
- Drive cost optimization while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
- Establish and monitor KPIs to ensure performance targets are met or exceeded.
Digital Transformation & Process Optimization:
- Identify, evaluate, and implement advanced digital tools and systems to enhance planning and supply chain operations.
- Develop detailed roadmaps to transition from manual processes to scalable, automated solutions.
- Leverage advanced technologies to improve data accuracy, visibility, and decision-making capabilities.
- Design and implement dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools to provide actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making.
Supplier and Risk Management:
- Establish and nurture relationships with key suppliers and manufacturing partners.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with Roku’s standards.
- Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, component shortages, and market fluctuations.
Team Development:
- Build and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
- Encourage cross-functional problem-solving and provide coaching, training, and career development opportunities.
What you'll be doing:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years experience in supply chain, material planning, or S&OP leadership roles, preferably in the technology, consumer electronics, or hardware industry.
- Expertise: Strong demand forecasting, S&OP development, and supply chain optimization background. Experience in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) regulations. Proven success in driving organizational transformation and implementing digital tools.
- Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Collaborative, flexible, and resourceful with a customer-centric focus. Strong leadership and communication skills to align cross-functional teams.
