ROLE OVERVIEW

Achieving sales, account growth and client success objectives within a geographical territory driven by inbound and self-sourced leads. This includes identifying and qualifying opportunities, and efficiently leveraging resources in order to bring opportunities to successful conclusion. Responsible for maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction - consistent with Benchling leadership principles!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Have a passion for working with small and medium-sized life science businesses
  • Consistent attainment of all revenue and booking targets.
  • Drive customers through close by thoughtfully addressing key stakeholders in the buyer journey while navigating organizational complexities.
  • Lead prioritization of sales efforts through the sales funnel.
  • Collaborate with sales and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Maintaining and updating account and opportunity data within company systems as directed, including Salesforce.com.
  • Representing Benchling in a manner consistent with company business principles and ethics.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree - life sciences major is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Sales Development Representative or 1-2 years of experience as an Account Executive. Experience demoing software a plus.
  • Demonstrable history of consistently achieving or exceeding ambitious sales targets.
  • Knowledge of the life sciences industry, including: R&D, and/or IT functions is required.
  • Curiosity, creativity, and persistence. You should be excited to collaborate with customers as a thought partner.
  • Dynamic communication skills and the versatility to connect effectively with a range of stakeholders, including scientists, team project leads and executives in industry.

SALARY RANGE

Benchling takes a market-based approach to pay. The candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, interview performance, and work location. For this role the base salary range is $75,000 -$105,300. However, because this role is eligible to participate in Benchling's commission plan, it is common for employees in this role to receive total on-target earnings of $150,000 - $210,600.
