Salary: $34,936 - $61,137

The Challenge
We're looking for an entry-level Engineering Technician to join our Lexington Construction Engineering team.

In this role, you will:
⦁ Perform technical duties while supporting engineers and other professionals in construction inspection, materials testing, project surveying, and program/regulatory compliance
⦁ Conduct inspections for compliance with contract documents, standards, and specifications, materials testing, review of plans, analysis of engineering-related data, and construction surveying/layout.
⦁ Compose diaries of project operations, complete material reports, perform construction calculations, document pay records, and conduct data entry into computers/iPads
⦁ Assist in all aspects of office engineering.
⦁ Assist our Resident Engineer.

What You Bring
⦁ Knowledge and understanding of general concepts, practices, and theories used in construction, construction inspection, and/or construction surveying.
⦁ Computer skills using laptops, iPads, and software.
⦁ Experience maintaining standard daily records and reports.
⦁ Experience working in a team environment to complete assignments.
⦁ Knowledge of standards and specifications.
⦁ Plan reading experience.
⦁ Communication skills to communicate effectively with coworkers, contractors, and the public.
⦁ Ability to work safely in an office and in outside environments with exposure to hazards on construction sites, including heights, highway traffic, and traversing rough terrain in evaluating highway construction
⦁ Fitness to perform moderate physical activity, including walking, climbing, balancing, kneeling, and standing.
⦁ Strength to lift 50 pounds.
⦁ You apply a safety philosophy and safety program to all operations.
⦁ Ability to work in varying weather and temperature conditions.
⦁ Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required to resolve project issues.
⦁ Ability to safely drive a state vehicle.
⦁ Safety toe shoes.

Education & Experience
⦁ Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or a related curriculum; or
⦁ An equivalent combination of training and experience.
