About the role:
The Senior FP&A Business Partner will play a critical role in driving our reporting, analysis, and insights to guide our business leaders. As part of the larger Strategic Finance team, the FP&A team is focused on delivering value through strategic, operational, and financial planning, aligned with our company’s goals. This role requires comprehensive involvement in month-end reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and extensive collaboration with sales, marketing, and other departments. You will be instrumental in driving insights, supporting decision-making, and optimizing financial performance across the organization.
A day in the life:
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the budgeting process (annual, quarterly, monthly) and ongoing forecasting efforts, focusing on areas like sales and marketing.
- Collaborate with department heads to gather financial data, define assumptions, develop budgetary guidelines, and ensure adherence to financial targets.
- Work closely with different business units to understand their financial needs and constraints.
- Financial Analysis & Insights
- Conduct in-depth analyses to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in financial projections, providing actionable insights.
- Build and maintain complex financial models to assess the impact of various initiatives, investments, and scenarios.
- Develop and update financial models with actuals, conduct variance analysis, and communicate insights and trends.
- Performance Monitoring & KPI Development
- Monitor and develop KPIs, identify trends, and work proactively with operational leaders to explore growth opportunities.
- Provide guidance on best practices in financial planning and analysis to enhance overall performance and reporting accuracy.
- Reporting & Transparency
- Prepare monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and timeliness in financial reporting.
- Ensure strong data cleanliness and source-of-truth reporting, partnering with Accounting to validate financial accuracy.
- Business Partnering for Revenue Growth
- Engage deeply with business partners, including sales and marketing teams, to identify optimization opportunities for revenue growth.
- Support leadership and business partners with insights and analysis, such as ROI, unit economics, scenario analysis, customer lifetime value, and acquisition cost.
- Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives, supporting cross-functional teams with financial modeling and presenting findings to executive stakeholders.
What you bring to the team:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- 4+ years of experience as a FP&A Business Partner.
- Experience in FP&A at a SaaS company with a strong understanding of SaaS business metrics and KPIs
- Exceptional numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, experience building complex financial models
- Clear, concise, and professional communication with excellent verbal and written storytelling skills.
- Passion for building data-driven organizations and making a tangible impact on business performance.
- Self-motivation, independence, and ability to deliver on deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of Excel is a must, Adaptive, Looker is an asset.
- Experience with business partnering with the sales and marketing operations is an asset.
Location and travel requirements:
AlayaCare supports a flexible hybrid working model, expecting that our employees have a regular in-office presence at their closest office location while offering flexibility for some remote work. Our team encourages in-person collaboration and with this, the preferred candidate location for this position would be within the Greater Montreal, Toronto, or Vancouver Area.
