About Auqli:
Auqli is building a dynamic live shopping platform that aims to transform the e-commerce landscape. As we prepare for a successful launch, we’re looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team, ensuring that our infrastructure is secure, efficient, and scalable. This role is crucial for supporting our platform’s stability and performance, especially as we grow and expand.

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with a strong background in AWS, programming in Bash or Shell, and CI/CD pipeline management. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing complex cloud environments and deploying scalable applications. As a key part of our tech team, you will be responsible for optimizing and automating our infrastructure to support a seamless, reliable user experience.

This is a fully remote role, but candidates must be based in Nigeria. If you’re passionate about DevOps, enjoy solving complex infrastructure challenges, and have experience with high-demand applications, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Management

  • Design, implement, and maintain a scalable infrastructure on AWS, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance.
  • Configure and manage AWS services, including ECS, EC2, and Amplify to support our application’s growth and security requirements.
  • Optimize infrastructure for performance, security, and cost-effectiveness, ensuring compliance with best practices.

Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)

  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to streamline the deployment process and ensure code quality.
  • Automate build, test, and deployment processes to enable rapid and reliable software delivery.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the CI/CD process, ensuring smooth and efficient deployment cycles.

Programming and Scripting

  • Write and maintain scripts in Bash or Shell for automation tasks, infrastructure management, and application deployment.
  • Develop tools to enhance DevOps processes, automate routine tasks, and optimize system performance.
  • Ensure scripting standards are met to maintain consistency and efficiency across DevOps workflows.

Monitoring and Optimization

  • Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting for infrastructure health and performance using tools compatible with AWS.
  • Proactively monitor system performance, resolve incidents, and optimize infrastructure to prevent future issues.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure application stability and address any bottlenecks or system vulnerabilities.

Security and Compliance

  • Implement and maintain security best practices across infrastructure, access controls, and data management.
  • Regularly audit and update infrastructure to meet compliance requirements, ensuring user data protection and system integrity.
  • Work closely with the team to mitigate security risks and implement necessary patches or updates.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • AWS Proficiency: 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS, particularly with ECS, EC2, and Amplify.
  • Programming Skills: 3+ years of experience programming with Bash or Shell for automation and infrastructure management.
  • CI/CD Proficiency: 3+ years of experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, with a solid understanding of best practices for continuous integration and continuous deployment.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Familiarity with IaC tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to automate infrastructure provisioning.
  • Strong Knowledge of Monitoring and Logging Tools: Experience with tools like CloudWatch, ELK Stack, or similar tools for system monitoring and alerting.
  • Security Best Practices: Knowledge of secure coding, data protection, and infrastructure security practices, particularly within cloud environments.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Non-Expired Certifications: AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect), Kubernetes certifications (e.g., CKA or CKAD) are highly preferred.
  • AWS S3 Proficiency: Experience managing and optimizing AWS S3 storage for secure and efficient data handling.

Compensation
Monthly Salary: ₦300,000 (Three Hundred Thousand Naira), with opportunities for performance reviews, salary increase and growth as the company expands.

Personal Attributes

  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure challenges effectively.
  • Detail-Oriented and Methodical: Meticulous about maintaining standards, ensuring compliance, and managing detailed documentation.
  • Proactive and Collaborative: Works effectively within a team, communicates clearly, and takes initiative to improve systems and processes.
  • Adaptable and Eager to Learn: Stays updated with the latest DevOps trends, cloud technologies, and best practices to continuously improve Auqli’s infrastructure.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Salary: Based on experience and qualifications.
  • Flexible, Remote Work Environment: Work from home and collaborate with a supportive team dedicated to innovation and growth.
  • Growth Opportunities: As an early team member, you’ll have the opportunity to grow within the company as we expand.
