About the Role
Vidyard is looking for a Senior Director of Engineering to join our R&D Leadership team. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer / Co-Founder, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the execution of our Engineering Department. As a vital member of our senior leadership team, this role provides a unique opportunity to drive meaningful impact for our customers.
In this role, you will develop and lead high-performing remote engineering teams dedicated to building customer value via technical innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration. Partnering closely with our Design and Product teams, you will steer the growth of our cutting-edge platform, designed to create and foster productive relationships between buyers and sellers.
We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about building exceptional teams that prioritize customer obsession, urgency and innovation.

About the Team
Our engineering team consists of over 50 developers across multiple product streams. Each team owns a key portion of our experience. We are passionate about creating awesome products and making Vidyard an amazing place to grow and ship.
What You’ll Work On
- Lead engineering teams to optimize for customer value and innovation
- Partner with executive leadership, senior leaders and managers to establish and execute the strategic goals for Engineering in alignment with company objectives
- Lead cross-functional collaborations with Product and Design leadership to support the growth and evolution of Vidyard’s platform
- You’ll be a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, working with your peers to make high-stakes decisions that impact key initiatives across the organization
- Leveraging your industry expertise, lead and scale world-class engineering practices which drive optimal performance, quality, and efficiency
- Work closely with your direct reports to foster a high performance culture with a focus on customer obsession
- Provide strategic guidance to managers and multi-faceted teams, ensuring operational excellence across complex projects with significant organizational impact
What You’ll Bring to this Role and Your New Team
- 3-5+ years as a Director of Engineering, ideally in a remote work environment
- 5+ years experience managing and growing engineering teams
- Advanced knowledge and strategic understanding of industry trends, systems and best practices including ways to leverage emerging technologies in AI to advance engineering team productivity
- Demonstrated success in building high-performing teams, fostering continuous improvement, and executing strategic change
- Proven ability to leverage data and insights to inform decision-making, assess risk, and drive impact
- Strong ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders across all levels of an organization
Our Tech Stack
- We primarily use Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Vue.js, React, MySQL and AWS. Experience with some of these is a plus, experience with all of them is not necessary.
