What do SafetyCulture Engineers do?SafetyCulture engineers will work on new and existing products that directly impact the lives of our customers around the globe. You’ll collaborate with other team members to investigate design approaches and evaluate technical feasibility. You’ll write high quality distributed system software and drive engineering best practices. Working in an Agile/Scrum environment you’ll establish architectural principles and mentor team members.

About the RoleAs a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll join our Facilitators and Learners Experience team, which plays a vital role in enhancing the onboarding process for employees across the organization. Our team leads initiatives to elevate the blended learning experience, with a focus on developing features that improve the journey and engagement of learners. You’ll have the opportunity to work on impactful projects that transform how training is delivered throughout the organization.

In This Role, You Can Expect To:

  • Build and maintain web applications, APIs, and microservices using C# ASP.NET.
  • Develop new features for our Inductions project while optimizing the performance and scalability of the product.
  • Contribute to other features on our blended learning platform.
  • Own the delivery of complex features, breaking down requirements, and estimating the effort needed for successful execution.
  • Write high-quality distributed system software and promote engineering best practices.
  • Work in a hybrid environment, including at our HQ in Surry Hills, Sydney.
  • Embody SafetyCulture’s values (Think Customer, Open Honest Always, Better as a Team, Be Bold Bring Action).

You May Be a Great Fit for This Role If You Have:

  • 4+ years of relevant software development experience.
  • Expertise in C# / .NET and SOLID principles.
  • Experience in fast-paced environments, particularly within SaaS companies, with increasing seniority in roles.
  • The ability to leverage technical expertise into leadership within an engineering team.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with databases and cloud services (AWS, Azure, etc.).
