Senior Data Engineer

Our dedicated team is committed to creating a positive impact in the lives of countless individuals seeking mental health support. We are currently looking for an experienced and talented Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our team and help us make a difference.

Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines that process large volumes of data, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability.
Collaborate with the team to define data requirements and ensure proper data infrastructure to support analytics and machine learning models.
Work with cloud-based data storage solutions (e.g., Google Cloud, BigQuery, etc.) to manage structured and unstructured data.
Implement ETL processes to automate data flow and ensure data integrity across all systems.
Optimize database systems for performance and scalability, ensuring low-latency access to data.
Create and maintain data models, schemas, and documentation to support the efficient use of data across the organization.
Ensure the security and privacy of sensitive data, adhering to industry standards and regulations like HIPAA.
Conduct code reviews, participate in design discussions, and mentor junior engineers.
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure data architecture aligns with business needs.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
5+ years of experience in data engineering, building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with modern ETL frameworks and tools (e.g., Airflow, Apache Kafka, etc.).
Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala for building data pipelines.
Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or Azure, with a strong preference for GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub).
Experience in designing and implementing data lakes, warehouses, and complex data models.
Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Strong knowledge of data privacy and security best practices, including handling of PII (Personally Identifiable Information) and healthcare data.
Experience working with large-scale, distributed data systems.
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with a focus on performance optimization.
Strong communication skills and experience working in a collaborative, remote team environment.
