Data Engineer Intern

Job Description

We are looking for a Data Engineer Intern, with a background in data architecture and experience in solution implementation, product selection and definition, configuration, migration and transformations between cloud and hosted solutions, to take responsibility for developing cutting edge wallet applications.

What you’ll be doing:

Work with teams to cover the complete life cycle of our Data Platform delivery from the initial agreement solution’s functional and technical requirements through to delivery and operation.

Develop data solutions and roadmap for sourcing data from multiple sources in the Data and AI ecosystem.

• Use design data tools and components
• Suggesting solutions to customers based on best practice.
• Providing guidance on test plans and end-user documentation.

What you’ll need:

• Able to demonstrate not only an understanding of the different aspects of data architecture, but also creation of business cases for development of data architecture and lifecycle strategies, engineering solutions, implementation plans and estimates; an understanding of the pros and cons of different approaches; and an ability to work independently throughout the full data management lifecycle.

• Knowledge of and experience in architecture, behaviour and use cases of different data platforms (e.g. Time-Series / KX, RDBMS, NoSQL, Graphs,).

• Expertise in extracting content from data – analytical, statistical and logic skills.

• Hands on experience of one or more key technology areas (e.g. Postgres, Hadoop stack, MSSQL, Spark, Kafka).

• Understanding of data management within the E2E architecture.

• Good communication skills and the ability to empathise with clients and help them articulate their requirements in an area which poses particular challenges.

• Development techniques including Continuous Delivery and Agile essential.
