We are looking to pursue opportunities to offer Canadian tax compliance services to current and potential clients, for which we are looking for a particularly skilled team to build a robust practice emphasizing on offering depth of expertise, breadth of services, exceptional client service experience, and professional development opportunities for our colleagues. As such, we are seeking a driven Canadian Tax Director to lead the development of a tax compliance practice in Canada. This role is pivotal in ensuring we can offer our current range of services to clients in Canada and would require the candidate to have a deep corporate tax expertise spanning both Canadian and Québec tax regulations, with a general understanding of other provincial regulations, sales taxes and tax planning opportunities. The candidate will be working alongside his Canadian counterparts in assurance and advisory and mentored by industry leaders part of our US and international tax compliance practices. The candidate can expect, beyond leveraging their technical expertise to serve clients, to participate heavily in business development activities as well as being relied on to develop procedural and administrative processes to establish such services in Canada

You Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or business.
- Chartered Professional Accountant designation in a Canadian province, preferably Quebec.
- Working knowledge of corporate tax compliance with a variety of clients in varying industries.
- Minimum of three years of experience working in a professional services organization as a corporate taxation specialist with a focus on provisions or corporate tax returns.
- Prefer experience from Big 4 or other large international accounting or consulting firm.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organizations skills.
- Ability to work in fast paced professional services environment.
You Will:
- Actively work to build a tax compliance practice in Canada, further developing the firm’s business and expertise outside of its current market/knowhow.
- Provide tax compliance and consulting to a diverse base of corporate clients in a variety or industries.
- Work with clients to minimize their federal and provincial tax liability.
- Work with international tax colleagues on multi-jurisdictional clients requiring tax planning.
- Collaborate with our Assurance professionals working on tax provisions.
- Help clients understand their sales tax obligations and oversee the preparation of their periodic filing requirements.
- Deliver and develop innovative financial planning ideas that meet or exceed client expectations.
- Oversee complex tax research projects for a variety of clients and diverse industries.
- Develop recommendations and implementation plans for clients and team members.
- Develop and deliver innovative financial planning ideas that meet or exceed client expectations.
- Develop a team of professionals working with you on providing Canadian tax compliance services, whom will be hired as the practice is built.
