The Web Presence team is a hybrid group of designers and engineers responsible for delivering high-quality web experiences that support HashiCorp’s go-to-market efforts. This includes websites like hashicorp.com, developer.hashicorp.com, and more. For many of HashiCorp’s customers and users, the Web Presence team delivers their first experience with the company, so it's crucial to set high standards.
The Web Presence team is looking for an experienced Senior Web UX Designer, reporting to the Manager of Web UX Design, Townsend Colon.
What you’ll do (responsibilities)
You care about your team members and communicate with humility, curiosity, and kindness. You are comfortable and experienced working with other teams, including engineering, product marketing, growth marketing, and product design. You understand the constraints and possibilities of the web as a medium, with experience in a B2B SaaS context being a plus.
You are highly proficient in designing intuitive and engaging web interfaces that enhance user satisfaction and drive business goals. You possess a systems mindset, capable of expanding and maturing our design system to ensure consistency and scalability across various digital platforms. Additionally, you have a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of user-centered design principles.
Being able to understand marketing and go-to-market motions is important, as the Web Presence team’s work is a key expression of HashiCorp’s marketing strategy, contributing directly to the sales pipeline, product adoption, and revenue.
- Expand and mature our design system to ensure consistency, efficiency, and scalability across various digital platforms.
- Deliver user-centered designs (including user flows and prototypes) informed by user and market research.
- Understands and can foresee how decisions may impact the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of own and closely related teams.
- Confident in leading projects and coordinating among peers cross-functionally.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless user experience across all platforms.
- Ensure design excellence by setting high standards for quality and execution.
- Drive execution and efficiency by demonstrating effective design processes and research outcomes.
- Collaborate with engineering counterparts to ensure efficient delivery of work that drives business outcomes.
- Align design objectives and priorities with marketing partners and effectively communicate these priorities to the team.
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Analyze user feedback and activity, and iterate to enhance the user experience.
What you’ll need (basic qualifications)
- 7+ years of relevant experience in web UX or product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
- High proficiency in design fundamentals, including layout, color, typography, and tone.
- Systems thinking, with the ability to understand and improve design systems for better consistency and efficiency.
- Strong understanding of design systems and how to make the appropriate quality trade-offs were necessary.
- Executes projects independently; Designs large projects, with minimal guidance from lead designers.
- Experience working closely with software engineers and a basic understanding of web development.
- Proficient in modern digital design practices and tools (e.g., Figma).
- Understanding of WCAG 2.2 Level AA accessibility standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with user research methodologies and usability testing.
What's nice to have (preferred qualifications)
- Technical knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and associated frameworks
- Familiarity with content design and content strategy practices
- Experience designing products for technical audiences
- Familiarity with Content management systems (CMS)
- Understanding of infrastructure management and cloud concepts
- Empathy for end-users and consumers

Individual pay within the range will be determined based on job related-factors such as skills, experience, and education or training.
The base pay range for this role in the SF Bay Area / NYC area is:$160,700—$189,000 USDThe base pay range for this role in Seattle Metro, Denver / Boulder Metro, New York (excluding NYC), Washington D.C., or California (excluding SF Bay Area) is:$147,500—$173,500 USDThe base pay range for this role in Colorado (excluding Denver / Boulder Metro) and Washington (excluding Seattle Metro) is:$133,900—$157,500 USD
