More and more listeners are tuned in to their favorite music artists, podcasts, and audiobooks. While technology advancements have improved the quality and delivery of the content, the ads that support the medium are practically the same style of ads heard in the car in the 1990s. Audio Advertising is now in need of its own revolution to make the listener experience and connection to advertisers authentic and enjoyable.

What we’re looking for...

We’re seeking a visionary designer who can elevate the Frequency platform by creating innovative design solutions that are both functional and aesthetically engaging while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure a cohesive, user-centered product experience. This designer will need to rethink and reimagine key flows and connections throughout the system to enhance usability and streamline interactions. You’ll play a key role in reinventing advertising production and delivery by designing custom-tailored tools and novel experiences for clients like iHeartMedia and other world-class publishers.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the end-to-end design process for key areas of Frequency’s platform, from conceptualization and user research to high-fidelity UI design and final implementation
  • Drive a user-centered design approach by actively seeking feedback from end-users, product managers, engineers, and customer support teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align design objectives with business goals and technical constraints, ensuring a seamless integration of user needs, visual aesthetics, and technical feasibility
  • Modernize and maintain the design system, building a cohesive library of components and patterns that scales across multiple product lines and ensures visual consistency
  • Present and advocate your design decisions to peers and senior leadership, using a strong understanding of interaction design principles, storytelling, and data to justify your approach
  • Rapidly iterate and produce multiple design concepts, knowing when to refine and perfect or pivot to another solution based on qualitative and quantitative data insights
  • Mentor and guide other team members, contributing to a culture of innovation and excellence within the product development organization
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor products, and emerging design practices, using your insights to drive continuous improvements and innovations at Frequency
  • Develop and maintain thorough documentation to aid internal and external problem solving
  • Foster a culture of impact and performance while championing our values to ensure that your team and the wider Product team are enabled to succeed

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of experience in product design, UX design, or related fields, ideally within tech, media, or advertising technology
  • 2+ years experience in B2B SaaS (ad tech, or ad operations experience is a plus)
  • You feel most fulfilled when designing and navigating large, technical, interconnected systems
  • You have a deep unquenchable curiosity that drives you to understand user needs at their core
  • You’re skilled at working in and improving systems to enable yourself and others to iterate rapidly
  • You skillfully tailor your approach to each project with finesse, knowing when to provide intricate details and when to deliver broader outlines, ensuring that your work meets high standards without bogging down progress
  • You are an eager learner, and persistent in your pursuit of quality work
  • You believe software should spark joy, not dread; it’s about empathy and going the extra mile to make software feel like magic
  • You have a proven track record of designing, developing, and launching successful digital products that showcase your ability to think both systemically and incrementally
  • You seek to facilitate design discussions and collaborate with stakeholders across product, engineering, and marketing teams
  • You have a passion for data-informed design, leveraging qualitative and quantitative research to support design decisions and prioritize improvements
  • You can work remotely and autonomously, leading complex design projects, managing multiple priorities, and consistently delivering high-quality results
  • You’re an excellent communicator, capable of presenting complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • You forge partnerships cross-functionally and on the Product team

Portfolio Requirements

  • A portfolio that demonstrates end-to-end process and thinking, with a focus on user-centered solutions, strategic impact, and visual quality
  • We’re interested in seeing your design process and evolution—from early sketches and wireframes to high-fidelity mockups and final shipped products
  • Include the business problem you were trying to solve, the constraints you navigated, and your role in advancing the project
  • Showcase designs that have been successfully released, demonstrating your ability to think systemically and work through complex design challenges
