About the job

Location: Central London
Working style: preference for in-person, hybrid possible
Start date: 6/01/2025 or earlier

Unfortunately, we’re not able to offer visa sponsorship at this stage. If you don’t have the right to work in the UK, keep an eye on our future job offering, we’re actively working on it.

About be/impact

Our vision is to bridge the gap between corporates and changemakers (charities and impact-first enterprises) through the exchange of skills and knowledge.

To begin with, we are turning corporate employees into teachers and mentors for the non-profit sector. Through our platform, employees deliver the professional training that they receive, allowing them to revise it, anchor their knowledge and develop their soft skills.

Most importantly, they make a long-term difference by upskilling charity employees and volunteers, allowing them to have a bigger impact on people's lives and the planet.

Role Overview

Support the founders in building the company during its early stages by driving business development, supporting operations, and actively contributing to strategic projects that define be/impact’s trajectory.

This role is for an ambitious, self-driven doer, who turns ideas into actions. and who is passionate about making a tangible difference through education and social innovation. We’re looking for someone who gets things done, fast.

As always for these positions (including founders associate positions), the role will evolve as the company grows: you won’t be doing the same thing in a year from now. There is a lot of room for you to bring your ideas and topics to the table.

This is your chance to be a part of a growing mission-driven startup focused on impact and learning while contributing directly to our growth and success.Being our first employee means you will have a privileged position in the leadership of the company as we grow, equity, and a rare opportunity to shape the company culture and processes in the way you find most effective and aligned with your values.

Key Responsibilities

In the first months, there will be a bigger focus on business development. Then, the role will evolve towards operations as we close more clients. Every week will be different, and you won’t be doing the same thing in a year. There is a lot of room for you to bring your ideas and topics to the table.

Operations & project delivery

Project management: Take full ownership of bespoke projects, from lunch & learn sessions to custom training programs, ensuring they run smoothly, working together with Operations.

Account management: Ensure smooth transitions for new customers, setting up demo environments and supporting them through the onboarding process. Actively engage clients on the platform, to drive renewals and upsells.

Product: Support the product teams in building the tech tools to make life of our users (and your job) easier!

Business development

Client acquisition & support: Prepare, conduct, and follow-up on business development calls, creating bespoke materials as needed.

Events & webinar organization: Plan and execute events & webinars to develop new business and partnership opportunities.

Community building: grow our network of charities and changemakers, create strategic partnerships with foundations and impact networks, and turn small scale pilots into long-term programs

Company culture & strategic initiatives

Process building: Contribute to building the foundational processes and culture of be/impact, ensuring a strong, inclusive, and engaging work environment, and effective operations.

Recruitment: helping define the teams’ needs, screening candidates, and onboarding new team members.

Your profile

We’re looking for someone to balance our strengths, bringing operational excellence and high-speed execution to the team.

Top qualities

  • Self-managing:
    • Strong self-drive and passion. You are ready to take ownership of your own tasks from day one
    • Pragmatic, independent problem-solving, and ability to execute tasks without the need to manage them on a day-to-day basis.
    • Self-starter/Adaptability: able to continuously prioritize and adjust tasks based on changing needs. Proven ability to produce a high level of output in a dynamic, uncertain environment. You are comfortable making decisions on your own.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication skills: verbal and written, both for internal collaboration and for engaging with corporate partners and charities. Ability to tailor messages to different audiences.

What we’re looking for

Passion for social impact: You have a strong motivation to make a difference in the community through education and social change.

Overperformance: We always overperform. We hire and build people who have excelled in everything they've done.

Hyper Collaboration: We work together brilliantly. We have a fully transparent culture where everything (including compensation) is shared.

Bonus point

  • You speak several languages.
  • You have experience in similar roles at early-stage start-ups or have created your own business or project from scratch.
  • You have domain expertise and/or a good network in B2B Sales, Education, L&D, SaaS, not-for-profits…
  • You are fun to work with!

Why Join Us?

Make an impact: Be part of a company on a journey to upskill a million changemakers by 2035.

Professional Growth & Learning and Development: A job in an early-stage start-up is the best way to take big responsibility early on in your career and grow quickly with the company. We have access to top-level coaches (our investors and partners) and exceptional learning and development opportunities through our training offerings.

Our values: ‘People first’, ‘Growth mindset’, and ‘Impact-driven’ … and the ones you bring! Joining at such an early stage also means you can bring your personality and your ideas to build a culture that resembles you.

So we really encourage people from all backgrounds to apply. Our team has as many nationalities as individuals, embraces neurodiversity, and sees value in difference.
