Role Overview.

As a React Native Intern, you will contribute to developing the Eight mobile app, ensuring a smooth and responsive user experience across iOS and Android. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about fintech, mobile app development, and learning in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the product and design teams to develop and enhance mobile applications using React Native.
• Implement user interface components for JavaScript-based mobile applications using React ecosystem.
• Optimize app performance and ensure a smooth and engaging user experience.
• Conduct debugging, testing, and code reviews to maintain high coding standards.
• Work with RESTful APIs to integrate backend services with the mobile application.
• Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Assist with bug fixing, troubleshooting, and deploying new app updates.

Required Skills

• React Native: Proficiency in building mobile applications with React Native for both iOS and Android platforms.
• JavaScript/TypeScript: Strong knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
• API Integration: Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and handling asynchronous data.
• UI/UX Principles: Understanding of responsive design, animations, and UI/UX best practices.
• Version Control: Familiarity with Git/GitHub for version control.
• Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

• State Management: Knowledge of state management libraries like Redux or MobX.
• Mobile App Development: Previous experience or projects in mobile app development using React Native or similar frameworks.
• Testing: Familiarity with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Enzyme).
• Design Tools: Experience with design tools like Figma or Sketch to collaborate effectively with designers.
• Interest in Fintech: A genuine interest in financial technology and an eagerness to learn about the fintech space.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote team.
• Passion for learning new technologies and contributing to a dynamic team.
