ABOUT THE ROLE
Peloton is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Taichung, Taiwan. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing and improving final assembly testing and packing (FATP) lines, driving the proper balance between low-cost automation and improving line efficiency from an industrialization point of view. This role requires a strong background in industrial engineering, process optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies. Additionally, the role involves working with third-party manufacturers to design takt times and cycle times, understand line flexibility, and assess the should-cost of manufacturing equipment and manufacturing value added (MVA).
YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON
- Line Design and Optimization:
- Design, develop, and optimize FATP lines to enhance production efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness, balancing low-cost automation and industrialization requirements.
- Collaboration with Third-Party Manufacturers:
- Partner with third-party manufacturing partners to ensure adherence to Peloton’s quality standards and production timelines in FATP operations.
- Takt and Cycle Times:
- Design and optimize takt times and cycle times in collaboration with third-party manufacturers to ensure efficient production flow and flexibility.
- Cost Assessment:
- Understand and assess the should-cost of manufacturing equipment and manufacturing value added (MVA) to ensure cost-effective production processes.
- Process Improvement:
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to identify and eliminate waste, reduce variation, and improve overall FATP line performance.
- Industrial Engineering Expertise:
- Apply industrial engineering principles to develop efficient workstations, workflows, and assembly processes for FATP, focusing on the balance between automation and manual processes.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Utilize data-driven approaches to monitor, analyze, and report on FATP line performance metrics. Implement corrective actions as necessary.
- New Product Introduction (NPI):
- Support the transition of new products from design to final assembly, ensuring that FATP lines are capable of producing at the required quality and volume.
- Training and Development: Train and mentor production staff and junior engineers in advanced FATP techniques and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all FATP processes comply with industry standards and regulations. Promote a culture of safety within the manufacturing environment.
YOU BRING TO PELOTON
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. English and Mandarin required.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in advanced manufacturing engineering, with a focus on designing and improving FATP lines in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, knowledge of automated testing systems, and efficient packing methodologies. Familiarity with industrial engineering principles and practices.
- Problem-Solving:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven track record of implementing successful FATP line improvements.
- Communication:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin.
- Team Player:
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Certification:
- Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) is preferred.
