Staff Software Asset Management Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

• Review and approve Software License Management processes and procedures
• Oversees the daily and long-term strategic management of software within the organization

Operational Management

• Maintain software standards, validated product lists, and maintenance contracts within the asset management database
• Develops and implements procedures for tracking company assets to oversee quality control throughout their lifecycles
• Assists procurement, financial, and legal departments in analyzing budgets, proposals, and vendor contracts for acquisition, monitoring, and compliance of software assets
• Conduct and lead software asset reconciliation and audit activities

Basic Qualification

• 10+ years equivalent work experience. (Software Asset Management, Experience in multiple SaaS or enterprise applications: ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, Salesforce, etc.)
• Proven experience in Software Asset Management (Pross design and operation, Software Inventory Management, License Management, Audit Readiness, Budget and Cost Optimization)
• Familiarity with various software license terms and conditions
• Experience in software procurement, contract negotiation, and vendor relations
• Strong background in risk management methodologies as they relate to software compliance.
• Strong knowledge of system and software compliance assurance best practices and methodologies.
• Analyze large volume of software entitlement and deployment data
• Build and manage complex licensing models and optimize our license usage based on key license drivers (headcount, volume)
• Evaluate licensing options, named versus processor licensing, on-premise versus cloud, owned versus SaaS, and provide recommendations
• Working closely with the various IT groups responsible for multiple IT Assets
• Outstanding writing and documentation skills.
• Able to conduct research into application issues and products.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Experience working with SAM tools and technology

• Worked Experience working in a fast-growth environment or e-commerce industry.

• Experience in Asset Management or Software development environment
• IT background (at least a good technical understanding of IT services)
• Experience in service delivery and multicultural environment
• Experience with various SaaS and related software and technologies
• Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
