We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Junior Total Rewards Specialist to join our People Team with a primary focus on compensation. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the Compensation and Benefits team by managing compensation processes, handling administrative tasks, responding to employee compensation queries, and assisting in the development and maintenance of salary structures. You will also contribute to benefits-related tasks, ensuring that our compensation and benefits programs are competitive, compliant, and well-organized. The ideal candidate will have 2-6 years of experience in compensation and benefits, with strong proficiency in Excel, Workday, and compensation platforms such as Aon Radford.

Compensation Administration:
- Administer and support the execution of compensation policies and programs, ensuring alignment with company goals and competitive market data.
- Audit job roles and prepare job descriptions that accurately reflect responsibilities, duties, and job requirements.
- Participate in compensation surveys to collect and analyze salary data, helping to maintain the company's competitive market position.
- Review proposed salary adjustments, ensuring they align with established guidelines, policies, and market trends.
- Provide recommendations to resolve compensation-related issues, such as salary adjustments or internal equity concerns.
- Assist in the formulation of company salary structures, reviewing FLSA exemptions, and recommending job revisions.
- Analyze and recommend salary grades for new or revised classifications, ensuring fair and competitive compensation across the organization.
- Conduct special studies and provide insights on compensation topics, including incentive compensation, bonus plans, sales compensation, and equity programs.
- Assist in equity administration tasks and maintain accurate records in Carta and Workday.
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations.
Benefits Administration (Support Role):
- Assist in the administration and communication of the company’s benefits program, ensuring employees understand plan options, enrollment requirements, and policy features.
- Conduct market data surveys to determine competitive positioning in employee benefits.
- Support the development and redesign of company benefits programs and contribute to cost analysis efforts.
- Maintain accurate benefits-related data in Excel and other platforms, assisting in reporting, audits, and data feeds to external carriers.
- Support the open enrollment process, leave of absence tracking, and other benefits-related functions, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
Total Rewards Program Support:
- Collaborate with the Senior Compensation Analyst to provide recommendations on the grading and leveling of positions, utilizing both external market data and internal compensation analysis.
- Ensure accurate management of job architecture, including job grades, salary ranges, and job descriptions, within the HRIS system (Workday).
- Proactively maintain data integrity across all compensation-related systems and processes, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
- Provide exceptional customer service in responding to compensation and benefits-related inquiries from employees and managers.
General HR Support:
- Support HR Generalists and the People Operations team with compensation-related tasks and total rewards projects.
- Utilize ticketing systems to manage employee queries and compensation requests.
- Perform regular audits of HRIS data to ensure compliance and accuracy.
A Bit About You
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2 - 6 years of experience in total rewards, with a primary focus on compensation administration.
- Strong expertise in Excel, particularly in performing data analysis, creating compensation reports, and managing large datasets.
- Experience working with HRIS systems, particularly Workday.
- Familiarity with compensation platforms such as Aon Radford and experience participating in compensation surveys.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in administering compensation surveys and conducting market data analysis to evaluate and recommend competitive pay structures.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to solve compensation-related problems and provide recommendations.
- Familiarity with equity administration and related platforms like Carta.
- Experience with benefits administration processes and best practices.

Salary and Benefits
Salary Range: 65,600 - 82,000

Travel: Yes - Required up to 15% of the time
Location Requirement: Employment at Alto is limited to individuals residing in the following states: California, Connecticut, Colorado, Florida, Nevada, Illinois, New York, Kansas, Texas, Maryland, Washington (WA), Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Wisconsin.
