About Faliam
At Faliam, we are rebuilding the back-office for healthcare practices. While the healthcare industry has seen significant innovation, the administrative side remains dominated by manual work and fragmented point solutions. Our mission is to rebuild these back-office functions and automate this undifferentiated layer so healthcare professionals can focus on what they do best: providing exceptional patient care.
We are a tight-knit team with big ambitions, backed by an amazing group of investors, including founders and executives from Flexport, Uber, Opendoor, and Eventbrite, as well as institutional partners like Contrary Capital and A*. Our team comprises senior engineers from leading tech companies and industry veterans experienced in scaling early-stage startups and building B2B marketplaces.
Join us on our mission to transform healthcare back-office operations and empower practices to focus on what truly matters: their patients.
About the Role
As part of our founding engineering team and our 5th team member, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Faliam’s technology and product. You will not only lead and strategize on engineering, product development, and team scaling but also roll up your sleeves to contribute directly to the codebase. You’ll make critical decisions on building solutions in-house or partnering with others, all while driving immediate impact. This role requires a self-starter who thrives with little hand-holding, is an absolute go-getter, and can seamlessly switch between high-level strategy and detailed execution.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of software development experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, networking, and system design
- Proven experience building and scaling highly scalable, cloud-native solutions
- Experience leading engineering teams and driving technical strategy
- Practitioner of DevOps principles
- Familiarity with microservice architectures
- Proficiency with public cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive experience with Go (Golang)
- Proficient in Unix/Linux environments
- Deep experience with AWS managed services (e.g., DynamoDB, SQS, Lambda)
- Prior startup experience
Responsibilities
- Strategic and Hands-On: Seamlessly navigate between high-level strategy and detailed execution, taking full ownership of projects without ever saying, "That's not my job."
- Hands-On Development: Contribute directly to the codebase, developing and deploying features and solutions.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate on product strategy, roadmap planning, and architecture design.
- Process Improvement: Implement engineering best practices and processes to increase efficiency and quality.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, design, and operations teams to deliver cohesive solutions.
- * Recuiting: Recruit and lead a high-performing engineering team as the company scales.
- Go-Getter Attitude: Take initiative to identify and solve problems with little guidance, driving immediate impact.
- * Customer Focus: Engage with customers to understand their needs and ensure the product meets and exceeds their expectations.
