Senior Staff Back-end Engineer

As a Senior Manager of the team, you will be responsible for the team in India's Coupang Tech Center - to grow the team, build domain ownership, identify talent gaps and define your team's strategy and roadmap. This role will work with Post-purchase Product team and various stakeholders to build the system to scale the business, resolve your system bottlenecks, lead multi domain projects with other tech organizations. A successful candidate will be highly adaptable, possess strong interpersonal and organizational skill, be able to effectively manage multiple work streams, think tactically as well as strategically, with strong engineering background and hold a high bar for engineering excellence.

In this role, you will:

· Lead one of the post-purchase engineering teams to enable FTS business's hyper growth.

· Hire and scale the team to support Coupang's business growth.

· Build and manage a true global & highly efficient engineering team.

· Align with stakeholders and lead engineers on mission critical projects to resolve complex problems for TW business.

· Drive the high quality of architecture and design of systems and keep raising the quality and design bar.

· Deep-dive and handle critical business, technical issues.

· Define and monitor the key metrics governing your systems, with an eye toward continuously improving them through ongoing product innovation.

Key Experience

· 3+ years senior management experience, including managing senior ICs on the team

· More than 11 years of experience in designing, building and deploying scalable, highly available backend services developed in Java/web environment

· Track of records of delivering large scale mission critical projects;

· Track of records of building the highly efficient Engineering organization.

· Bachelor's in engineering or equivalent.

· Ability to think strategically, with exceptional skills in diving deep and raising for engineering excellence

· Able to dive deep to find gaps for availability, scalability in current systems and come up with right solution

· Able to operate autonomously to manage projects in a fast-paced environment and remain focused amidst frequently changing requirements.

· Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and leading the delivery of large-scale services for complex platform projects and connect it to business impact

· Able to pitch and hold in depth discussions with the C-level stakeholders.

Preferred

· Prior experience in eCommerce systems.

· Prior strong experiences in leading and delivery company-wise tech initiatives.

· Prior experience to establish engineering excellence strategy for your systems and execute
