You will be working directly with our customers to renew their MongoDB contracts owning the renewal process from 120 days prior to renewal expiration. Given this is a new team at MongoDB you will contribute to developing our renewal process and playbooks to delight customers and deliver strong renewal results.
Success in this role requires exceptional communication and Interpersonal skills, operational excellence, deal formulation and negotiation experience, a strong aptitude to learn MongoDB products and policy and solid relations with internal stakeholders. What you will be doing
As a Renewals Specialist at MongoDB, you will be responsible for managing the renewal process for our customer base, ensuring the seamless continuation of their partnerships with MongoDB and maintaining strong customer relationships. You will work closely with our sales and customer success teams to offer an outstanding customer experience, ultimately contributing to the growth and retention of our customer portfolio within your territory.
Renewal Management
- Proactively manage the end-to-end renewal process for assigned customer accounts, ultimately increasing the Renewal Rate
- Work on upcoming renewals and engage with customers 120 days in advance to secure timely renewals
- Prepare renewal quotes and contracts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
Customer Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their usage, needs and challenges
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing insights and solutions to maximize the value they receive from MongoDB
Negotiation and Objection Handling
- Collaborate with customers to address any objections or concerns related to renewals
- Negotiate contract terms and pricing to achieve win-win agreements
Data Analysis
- Utilize data and reporting tools to track renewal performance, forecast renewals , and identify at-risk accounts
- Provide regular updates to the management team on renewal status and key metrics
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the sales, customer success, and other stakeholders internally to ensure a coordinated approach to renewals
We’re looking for someone with
- 3+ years of quota-carrying experience in a fast-paced and competitive market with a focus on closing Renewals
- Bachelor's/Master’s degree in engineering or business
- A proven track record of overachievement and hitting sales targets
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to a diverse audience, both internally and externally
- Strong problem-solving, organization and negotiation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple opportunities to be managed at the same time
- Talent for building solid relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Driven and competitive. Possess a strong desire to be successful
- Prior exposure to database, cloud and infrastructure technology is a plus
- Fluent in German & English is required, plus additional languages would be an advantage
