Clinical Informaticist - Part-Time

Phrase Health is an innovative health technology company focused on transforming clinical data into actionable insights that enhance health system processes, clinician workflows, and patient outcomes. Originally founded by a team of clinical informaticists at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Phrase Health is expanding its platform to integrate new data sources and improve the utility of EHR-based workflows for healthcare systems.

We are seeking a part-time Clinical Informaticist with a strong background in clinical settings and formal experience in clinical informatics (preferably board certified). The role will initially be consulting-based. The Clinical Informaticist will play a critical role in shaping product development, mapping clinical concepts to our data model, and contributing to marketing strategies aimed at driving adoption of our technology.

Keys responsibilities:

• Product Development Support: Collaborate with our product team to provide insights into the development of tools to support informatics and quality teams.
• Concept Mapping: Help map clinical concepts from electronic health record (EHR) data to the Phrase Health data model.
• Marketing Contribution: Assist in marketing efforts by translating technical informatics concepts into value propositions for health systems, supporting our outreach to potential clients.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with clients and internal teams to understand the operational value of product features and advise on usability.

Qualifications:

• Board-certified in Clinical Informatics (preferred) or at least 2 years of formal experience in clinical informatics in a health system environment.
• Current experience in a clinical setting (physician, nurse, or other healthcare provider roles).
• Proven experience with EHR systems, including deep familiarity with clinical decision support (CDS) tools such as alerts, order sets, etc.
• Ability to translate clinical concepts into technical requirements for product development.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and clearly explain clinical needs and informatics concepts.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to work independently in a consulting role.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Technical experience including programming languages like SQL, Python, or similar.
• Extensive experience with either Epic Systems or Oracle Cerner
• A background in supporting or leading CDS committees.
• Experience working within a small company and/or startup environment.
• An understanding of healthcare reimbursement models and clinical quality measures.
• Experience (or strong desire to participate) in sales activities.
