We are looking for an Analytical Writer / Insights Editor who can help scale our content engine in a start-up environment.
We’re seeking an Analytical Writer / Insights Editor to drive our content strategy forward and amplify TRM’s presence as a thought leader in blockchain intelligence. In this role, you'll create data-driven reports and insightful content that increase our share of voice in the market. We’re looking for a talented writer with a journalist’s instinct for storytelling and the ability to distill complex information into clear, impactful narratives. You’ll work cross-functionally, move swiftly, and keep a close eye on industry trends to produce timely, relevant content that positions TRM as a trusted source in the industry. What you’ll be responsible for:
- Generating potential topics and formats for “Intelligence Products” (data-driven reports, articles, and briefings) that will enable TRM to achieve its brand and commercial objectives
- Using inputs from the go-to-market team, assessments of the media landscape, and other insights to hypothesize on what research and outputs will enable us to meet certain business outcomes
- Produce scoping documents and outlines that define the key analytical questions and core narratives each report will pursue, working with analytical teams to determine the feasibility of requested specs
- Serving as the lead author on all Intelligence Products—drafting and editing reports for clarity, grammar, punctuation, and spelling, in accordance with TRM’s voice and style guidelines
- Verifying and cross-checking the accuracy of data, references, statements, and sources used in reports
- Providing clear perspective on the best visual interpretations of data from SMEs and analytical leads
- Editing with an eye for excellence, collaborating with marketing leads to ensure every report follows a clear narrative, aligns with our brand, and is consistent in style and formatting
- Managing project milestones and clearly communicate progress, blockers, or exit requirements at each stage of our intelligence product shipping framework
- Leading retros following the delivery or publication of flagship Intelligence Products
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Government, Economics or a related field. Advanced degree a plus
- 5+ years of experience in content generation, preferably in a blockchain, fintech, or think tank environment
- Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, punctuation, and style
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot errors quickly and accurately
- Superior research and fact-checking skills
- Proficiency in using editorial tools and software
- Bonus: Basic understanding of cryptocurrency concepts and terminology
About the Team:
- The Insights team operates with clarity of global priorities and desired outcomes in every interaction we have- if we don't have that clarity, we drive it.
- We think creatively and laterally about how to meet stakeholder needs, and always take the long view of relationships. We have live syncs with stakeholders to scope, align, and to retro, but otherwise work async and cross-functionally by centralizing communications and status into a dedicated single channel or thread.
- Global priority and status for every engagement are mapped in our Intelligence Product Roadmap.
- We have a weekly sync for content and a weekly sync within Insights/analytics.
- As a globally distributed company, team members and stakeholders observe different time zones. Within Insights, the team typically expects to reserve 7 AM - 11 AM PT for meetings and collaboration.
Learn about TRM Speed in this position:
- Scoping and producing an insights piece (or media response) in response to a current event or reporter inquiry within 6-12 hours.
- Scoping and making a cross-functionally informed go/no go on a customer request for insights within 24 hours.
- Completing 2-5 written data-driven products per week targeted to a diverse set of audiences that are executed with excellence, accuracy, and alignment to TRM judgment/tone.
