ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Head of Fulfillment Tech in Taiwan, you will spearhead the growth and ongoing development of Coupang's fulfillment technology in this key new market. Coupang Taiwan stands as one of our fastest-growing divisions, expanding at an unprecedented rate that surpasses even our early growth in Korea. This dynamic and rapidly evolving ecosystem presents a complex and challenging environment for the right candidate.
In this role, you will take full responsibility for scaling our fulfillment capacity in Taiwan. Your primary focus will be on setting up products needed to expand our entire fulfillment system, with the ambitious goal of growing our Fulfillment Center (FC) network from the current two centers to twenty within the next 18 months. You'll be tasked with building capacity to handle millions of items per day, mirroring the scale of our Korean operations.
A secondary key aspect of this role will involve developing and implementing our own last-mile delivery system. While we currently rely on third-party services, your challenge will be to create a proprietary system that leverages our experience in Korea while adapting to the unique needs of the Taiwanese market. This effort should be approached with a broader perspective, aiming to platformize our fulfillment technology for future expansion.
As we grow, you'll be instrumental in enabling the launch of additional services such as Fresh (grocery delivery) and WOW membership (free delivery). You'll be responsible for enabling these new business lines, including Fresh FCs, from a fulfillment perspective and thus enable us to further expand our service offerings in Taiwan.
The ideal candidate for this position will be comfortable dealing with high degrees of complexity and adept at working with a large cohort of international stakeholders across Taiwan, South Korea, China, and the US. You'll collaborate closely with various departments including logistics, operations, retail and SCM.
We're seeking a visionary product leader who can inspire the current team to envision new and localize existing applications while also being a disciplined operator capable of turning bold ideas into reality.
This fast-paced environment requires a product leader who is flexible, detail-oriented, and thrives on ambiguity. You should be able to drive results across cross-functional groups, drawing deep insights from complex data. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to interact comfortably with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels, especially leadership.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of Coupang's fulfillment technology in Taiwan and beyond. If you're ready to take on this challenge and make a significant impact in a rapidly growing market, we want to hear from you.
