Meet Your Future Neighbors
As a Data Scientist with Nextdoor, Inc. (San Francisco, CA) (40% Telecommuting permitted per week within a commutable distance from the worksite) you’ll:
- Design and execute A/B tests to evaluate the impact of a wide variety of marketing interventions, including educational series of how to use our product, engagement series of inactive users
- Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and identify key performance indicators. Utilize data insights to optimize marketing strategies
- Utilize SQL queries and pycharm to gather necessary data to perform analysis and use Python to identify optimization opportunities such as customer segmentation, statistical robust experimentation design and interpretation of results and supporting visualizations to illustrate findings
- Define and track marketing KPIs to assess the effectiveness of campaigns, channels, and marketing initiatives
- Develop dashboards and reports to visualize and communicate data-driven insights to stakeholders
- Support the execution and success of email campaigns that lead to a direct revenue generation for the business
- Build out foundational ways-of-working that helps improve the efficiency of the analytics function by collaborating with marketing, analytics, and Marketing Technology teams to ensure data availability, accuracy, and accessibility
- Work closely with data engineers and technology professionals to integrate marketing data sources and implement data-driven solutions
- Build machine learning models to predict user behavior and potential business opportunities
- Conduct causal inference analysis to understand user acquisition and user engagement

What You’ll Bring to The House
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or closely related quantitative discipline
- Two (2) years of experience in the position offered or as a Data Analyst, or closely related position in data sciences
- In the alternative, will accept a Bachelor’s degree in the fields above followed by five (5) years of progressive, post-bachelor’s experience in positions specified above
- Must have demonstrated experience in the following: Utilizing statistical hypothesis testing to design and run experiments that test the statistical significance of changes in the product on key performance metrics; Developing machine learning models in Python to create customer segments based on demographic, geographical and behavioral data; Evaluating model performance and provide actionable recommendations to optimize product initiatives; Developing complex SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data; Conducting in-depth data exploration and analysis to uncover patterns, trends and anomalies; Utilizing data visualization tools, including PowerBI and Tableau to build dashboards of business metrics for KPI; Presenting key findings and business insights to stakeholders; and Utilizing SAS programming and SQL queries to conduct big data (TeraBytes level) investigations and research consultancy for Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
Rewards
Compensation, benefits, perks, and recognition programs at Nextdoor come together to create one overall rewards package. The starting salary for this role is expected to range $208,000 to $227,000/year on an annualized basis.
We also expect to award a meaningful equity grant for this role. With equal quarterly vesting, your first vest date would be within the first 3 months of your start date.
