It’s an exciting time to join our growing Accounting team in Mexico with ample development opportunities. We're looking for an Accounting Manager to strengthen our general ledger and accounting operations functions in Latin America (LATAM), primarily in Mexico and Brazil these days, while keeping pace with one of the fastest growing global marketplace companies.
About the Role
We are hiring an Accounting Manager to oversee our Latin American (primarily in Mexico and Brazil) regional accounting, regulatory compliance matters and also support reporting projects as needed. This is an individual contributor position, with the opportunity for impact by creating efficient processes, solving problems with cross-functional collaborators, and demonstrating knowledge as a dedicated SME for Latin America accounting operations. Progressive experience in accounting operations, internal controls and financial systems is required, as well as the ability to interact with all levels of management and cross-functional teams. You will speak and write fluently in both English and Spanish to work across teams and vendors in the United States, Mexico, and Brazil. In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager, based in the United States, on our Accounting Team, and you will not have direct reports.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
- Manage daily accounting activities to ensure compliance with local regulations/GAAP, U.S. GAAP, internal policies, SOX controls, and external audits
- Review day-to-day accounting operations, including General Ledger, bookkeeping, month-end and quarter-end closing
- Oversight and being accountable for the accuracy and completeness financial results of the Accounting functions in LATAM (including Mexico and Brazil)
- Work with external vendors and oversee the budget and manage the performance of external vendors
- Collaborate with cross functional teams as needed including HR, FP&A, Data Engineering team, tax team and other business partners
- Review account reconciliations on a monthly basis and prepare monthly reporting packagesIn charge of statutory audit of local financials as needed
- Actively seek process improvements and being a driving force in accounting related projects, including payroll
We’re excited about you because…
- You have 5+ years' of hands-on accounting experience (G/L, closing, etc)
- You have a CPA or are studying towards achieving your CPA
- You are fluent in speaking and writing in both English and Spanish
- You have international accounting experience at a global corporation
- You possess working knowledge of US GAAP, MEXGAAP, and IFRS accounting standards
- You collaborate with global business partners, both internal and external
