About the job
About us:
Amper is consumerizing industrial technology to run the factories of the future, weaving hardware and software into the leading manufacturing tech stack. Our mission is to build the next generation of factories and unlock the full potential of manufacturers.
We are a Chicago-based industrial technology startup with deployments across thousands of industrial assets across hundreds of factories. Amper was born with a patented approach to connecting any kind of industrial machine in minutes; this self-installed product unlocked data from machines of all kinds — and has enabled an affordable and scaleable solution for manufacturers.
Working with market leaders like Boeing, Toyota, and Bosch, as well as hundreds of SMB manufacturers, Amper's solution has evolved into the FactoryOS, a radically new approach to manufacturing operations. We enable our customers with visibility and workflow tools across their processes, building a mission control for operations.
Amper launched in 2019 and currently has a team of approximately 40 employees. We have raised $15M in venture capital from top-tier investors. Given the growing demand for our solutions, we are at an inflection point, prepared to scale and extend our market leadership.
Role Overview:
As Director of Sales at Amper, you will play a pivotal role in charting the course of our revenue growth. You will execute our revenue goals by coaching our sales team, refining the sales process, and closely monitoring indicators. This role will involve rolling up your sleeves and being part of customer calls, assisting in deals, and empowering our team to have streamlined processes. You will be part of the leadership team and closely collaborating with the CEO and other leaders.
Responsibilities:
Pipeline Conversion: Ensure we meet our leading and lagging indicators by spearheading pipeline reviews, helping close deals, and managing key funnel metrics.
Coaching: Support a team of 5-10 Account Executives with clear and tactical feedback on progressing and winning deals. Drive accountability on the process and metrics with performance management of the team. You’ll run sales meetings and travel to key accounts.
Recruiting: Hire Account Executives and provide onboarding and ongoing coaching to ensure their growth and success.
Reporting: Regularly share insights across forecasts, bottlenecks, and other information to ensure the team supports the process and achieves results.
Enablement: Work cross-functionally to strategically solve problems and project manage, and create content for ongoing training and development.
Culture: Champion, role model, and embed Amper’s core values (Obsess over the customer, Embrace reality, Insist on the highest standards, Build for the long term, Bias for action, Be lean).
An ideal candidate has:
6+ years of sales experience with $20-100k ARR deal sizes, with proven performance owning a complex selling motion from prospecting through close
2+ years of experience managing sales teams
Experience recruiting and successfully onboarding 2 or more AEs
Excellent communication skills providing feedback, building presentations, writing memos
Comfortable with building presentations and memos
Interest or experience in the manufacturing industry
