Senior Web Developer

We’re looking for a Senior Web Developer who can design, build, and scale performant, secure, and intuitive web applications. You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, and data scientists to bring to life new experiences that make insurance simpler and smarter. This is a hands-on role with ownership across the stack, with particular emphasis on front-end frameworks, API integrations, and building for scale.

Responsibilities:

1. Architect, develop, and maintain responsive web applications using modern frameworks (React/Next.js or similar).
2. Build reusable components and libraries with a focus on performance, accessibility, and maintainability.
3. Collaborate with backend engineers on APIs, edge-optimized deployments, and distributed systems.
4. Contribute to design and code reviews, ensuring high standards of security, scalability, and reliability.
5. Translating designs and wireframes into high-quality code.
6. Rigorous attention to detail across the full stack – someone who wants to make sure our customers feel the magic of software with every interaction.
7. Enable user analytics, logging, monitoring, instrumentation for all services.
8. Experience writing unit tests, integration tests, performance tests.
9. Collaborate with various team members and stakeholders on requirements definition and feature design and development.
10. Take part in agile ceremonies to estimate and execute programming projects.

Desired Skills and Experience:

1. 5+ years’ experience as a software engineer building and debugging consumer-facing SPA applications in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
2. Deep experience with React (preferred) or similar frameworks (Vue, Angular).
3. Experience with SSR/SSG frameworks (Next.js, Nuxt, etc.) and modern state management.
4. Jest/Enzyme or equivalent unit-testing experience required.
5. Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure) and deploying edge-optimized applications.
6. Proactive, thrives in a startup like environment with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
7. Passion for high-quality code, tests, CI/CD, documentation, and production services.
8. Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical peers.
9. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative startup like environment.
10. Experience in scrum and agile methodologies.

Nice to Have

1. Familiarity with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, CloudFront).
2. Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub portfolio.
3. Background working in fast-paced startups with cross-functional teams.
