Job Description:
Lead the design and development for the NYS Tax Modernization Program's Real Property Systems Modernization project.

Day to Day task:

• Assist in modernizing legacy systems.
• Coordinate technical solutions among support groups.
• Implement solutions and develop system components.
• Support production tasks and resolve defects.
• Coordinate with the development team for integration testing.
• Develop design documents and program specifications.
• Guide requirements gathering and system design.
• Code, perform unit/integration tests, and optimize SQL.
• Support user testing and mentor less experienced staff.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Software Architect: Makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms. Designs multi-leveled architecture or component interactions of a large-scale software system.
• Expert (84+ months): Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
• 84 months experience with J2EE technologies including JDBC, JSP, and XML.
• 84 months experience developing, building, and testing Java EE applications using modern IDE’s, such as Eclipse, Netbeans, or IntelliJ.
• 84 months experience using J2EE-based Application Servers such as Websphere, WebLogic, TomCat, JBoss etc.
• 84 months of IBM DB2 experience working with DB2 databases and experience with XML schemas (definition, querying, and automated generation).
• 60 months experience in performance tuning applications interacting with databases.
• 60 months of experience in messaging technologies, such as MQ, JMS, Kafka.
• 84 months of experience in system analysis and design of multi-tiered transactional systems.
• 24 months experience with Real Property Tax (e.g. valuation, assessments, and exemptions).
