Title: Expert IT Specialist

Pay Rate: $52 to $55 per hour

Location: Albany, NY – Onsite

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Expert IT Specialist to join our team in Albany, NY, providing crucial support to the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) Early Intervention Program. This temporary contractual role involves supporting the New York Early Intervention System (NYEIS) and other DOH data systems. The focus will be on migrating functions and data from the legacy Curam system to a non-Curam, vendor-supplied replacement system.

Qualifications

  • IT Specialist: Works in the field of Information Technology, experienced in the usage and support of development platforms, technical architectures, or business applications. Beyond the scope of a Programmer.

  • Expert (84+ months): Capable of providing guidance to large teams, possessing extensive industry experience, and considered at the top of the field.

  • 36 Months Experience: Designing, coding, deploying applications built using the Cúram Social Program Management framework.

  • 36 Months Experience: Developing applications using Rational Rose.

  • 24 Months Experience: Leading a technology team, adhering to system development life cycle industry standards.

  • 84 Months Experience: Java programming.

  • 36 Months Experience: Developing using Oracle 10g or newer.

  • 36 Months Experience: Version Control Systems, such as Git, SVN, etc.

  • 24 Months Experience: Configuring application servers such as WebSphere or WebLogic.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science.

  • Certification: Cúram version 4.5 or greater.

Day-to-Day Tasks

  • Perform tasks related to transitioning the current Cúram system functions to an external vendor.

  • Conduct Application and Data analysis using Rational Rose and SQL Developer, sharing findings through written communication and verbal discussions.

  • Work closely with the responsible Manager on assignment status, progress, and overall priorities, providing documentation and informal estimates as needed.

  • Provide backup support to the System Administrator, including application stop/start, manual batch execution, and collaboration with technical teams.

  • Perform technical analysis of a secondary Java system following Business analysis work, providing estimates for changes, and implementing them accordingly.

  • Complete administrative tasks, including attending and participating in meetings, preparing a weekly report, and submitting the NYS LATS timecard.
