Expert Systems Architect

We are seeking an experienced Systems Architect to join our team in Albany, NY. In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert-level analysis, support, development, reengineering, and implementation for large-scale, mission-critical applications.

You will work with the latest technologies including COBOL, SQL, Java, DB2, IDMS, MQ Series, CICS, and more to optimize system performance and solve complex business challenges. Success in this position requires strong technical skills as well as the ability to communicate complex concepts to cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

1. Provide systems architecture, design, development, and performance tuning for enterprise-level applications
2. Troubleshoot issues and conduct root cause analysis to identify and implement solutions
3. Develop backup, recovery, and phased implementation strategies for system conversions
4. Design data integration and synchronization processes across platforms and databases
5. Collaborate with stakeholders across technology, business, and data teams
6. Continuously monitor and improve system efficiency, scalability, and reliability

Requirements

1. 7+ years of experience as a Systems Architect
2. Expert-level knowledge of COBOL, SQL, Java, MQ, CICS, DB2, and other technologies
3. Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex development initiatives
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
6. Experience supporting mission-critical systems in a fast-paced environment
7. Passion for staying up-to-date on the latest technologies and best practices
