The Role
As the Head of Global Editorial Strategy & Operations, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Global Head of Editorial in leading the team, optimizing our editorial processes, and leading global editorial initiatives. You will collaborate closely with our Global Head of Editorial, regional heads, finance team, people team, commercial team, marketing team, product team, and technology team. Your primary focus will be working with the Global Head of Editorial to scale the structure of the team globally; working with the regional heads on the needs of their teams, advising on structural changes, and staffing needs; managing the editorial budget, coordinating staffing requirements, acting as a bridge between the editorial and finance/people departments. Additionally, you will work with the product solutions team and marketing on go-to-market initiatives, gathering technology needs for the team and synthesizing commercially relevant information periodically for the global editorial team.
This is a New York or London-based role which will require traveling across regions and may in time require managing a team.
Responsibilites
- Deputize Global Head of Editorial: Act as a stand-in for the Global Head of Editorial in their absence, representing them in various meetings, discussions, and decision-making processes as needed.
- Budget Management: Assist the Global Head of Editorial in developing, monitoring, and managing the editorial budget. Provide regular financial analysis and reports to ensure efficient resource allocation and cost optimization.
- Staffing Coordination: Collaborate with regional heads to identify staffing needs and optimize editorial team structures. Assist in recruitment processes and ensure the right talent is onboarded to support our editorial operations.
- Technology Needs: Work with the Global Head of Editorial, product team, and technology team to gather technology requirements and needs for the editorial teams. Ensure that the editorial teams have the necessary tools and resources to perform their duties effectively.
- Financial Liaison: Serve as the point of contact between the editorial department and the finance team. Facilitate seamless communication, address financial queries, and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Go-to-Market Initiatives: Work closely with the commercial and marketing teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new products, features, and editorial offerings. Monitor the impact of these initiatives on business performance and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Commercial Synthesis: Collaborate with the regional heads and the Global Head of Editorial to synthesize commercially relevant information periodically. Provide insights and analysis to support decision-making processes and enhance the commercial value of our editorial offerings.

- Management skills: this role will require strong management skills when deputizing the Global Head of Editorial and dealing with direct reports.
