Company Overview
We are Nevados Engineering, an innovative startup based in San Francisco, CA that is pioneering in the solar industry. At Nevados, we believe that solar installations should fit to the earth instead of forcing the earth to fit to solar installations. We set out to make solar a cost-competitive source of clean energy in every way possible.
We specialize in designing and selling mounting systems for the solar industry called Single Axis Trackers. Our product, the Nevados “All Terrain Tracker”, is unique in that it enables installation on ungraded terrain. This triples the amount of land available for developers, reduces construction costs, and reduces construction labor on flat, sloped, and rolling terrain.
Position Overview
Nevados is developing a suite of control system devices and software products that enable the reliable operation of our trackers. As part of the Controls team, the Electronics Product Engineer will be responsible for the manufacturing and sustaining of our existing control system devices, as well as be a key team member for new product introduction. Your focus will be on maintaining close contact with our suppliers, making continuous improvements to our processes, ensuring compliance across the family of controls products, and ensuring new products launch successfully. This position will collaborate closely with the Supply Chain team and our suppliers domestic and abroad.
This position reports to the Director, Controls.
While Nevados is a remote-first company with employees located across the US and Canada, the Controls team is required to work at least 50% of the time at the Nevados headquarters (currently located in San Francisco, but moving to Oakland later this year). Candidates with their own lab space may work from home up to 50% of the time.
Travel up to 20% to attend company off-sites (4x/year) and visit suppliers, test sites, and customer sites is required.
