About the job
We are building a world-class solar billing experience for multifamily residents. Reliable access to high quality energy & utility data is a critical part of our success. We are looking for an experienced engineer with experience in both software development and data engineering to build and lead our energy and utility data team. You will work closely with the product development team, data team, and business stakeholders while collaborating with and reporting to the CTO. This role is as much about the technical aspect as it is about the business aspect and you will be expected to collaborate with clients, vendors and partners.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the high quality and availability of energy and utility data through various data acquisition methods and strategies, such as REST APIs and web scraping.
- Design, build, and maintain a scalable and flexible energy & utility data ingestion platform
- Perform discovery work on integrations with new data sources and APIs
- Contribute to the data sourcing roadmap & data acquisition strategy
- Collaborate with clients, vendors and partners to understand business and technical requirements
- Lead projects and manage engineering resources (internal or external) to meet business needs
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience with software engineering
- Experience building data intensive applications
- Experience working with large datasets, especially time series based data
- Experience building or working with data pipelines
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience leading teams and projects, including reviewing other engineers' work and confirming quality and acceptance of work
- Passion for innovation and delivering exceptional experiences.
- A proactive and driven mindset, with a focus on delivering results.
- Ability to take ownership and work efficiently.
- Desire and ability to share knowledge to other teammates
- Willingness and ability to wear multiple hats
Nice To Have
- Experience with time series energy data pipelines.
- Experience with large 3rd party company data integration requirements from a technical and compliance standpoint.
Benefits
$150-180K
Compensation is commensurate with various factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, training, licensure, certifications, geographic cost of labor, and other business and organizational needs.
