Position: Principal Software & Systems Engineer
Location: remote (San Francisco Bay area or San Diego preferred preferred)
Duration: Full-time

About the Role:

As a very senior level engineer reporting to the CTO, you'll play a crucial role in our early growth phase. You'll lead technology strategies and platform software development. Whether you're a seasoned hands-on engineering veteran or a rising star eager to take on a technology leadership role, this position offers the chance to make a significant impact and drive our company's success.

Responsibilities:

Take ownership & work as an individual contributor.
Understand the big vision and iteratively translate them to System Architecture.
Focus on Backend System Design and REST API development, using Django/Python framework.
Design & develop Software components from System Architecture.
Integrate & Validate complex Software components.
Apply Software best practices including OO-SOLID principles, Domain Driven Design (DDD), State Machines, ORM, Relational ER mappings.
Implement and enhance Infrastructural architecture using AWS cloud.
Perform ChatGPT or other LLM based Prompt Engineering for NLU/NLP
Create Data Analytics from data collected through multiple channels.
Run open-source ML models using Google-Colab (or AWS Sagemaker) and benchmark.
Lead by example, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.

Requirements:

“Can do” attitude with a hacker mentality: “A feature a day.”
Must be very hands-on with full SDLC phases.
Experience in building several SAAS related platforms with 10+ years of experience.
Experience of migrating large monolithic SAAS App and DB to multiple small microservices through Domain Driven Design (DDD) approach.
Adept in Django/Python concepts including: Serializers, Validations, ORM, query filters, and Celery based async task processing.
Strong in database design and ERD mappings specifically using Postgres and Django Migrations.
Knowledge of using Python/Streamlit for quick PoC
Thorough knowledge & experience in AWS Cloud solutions including DevOps and ML/Ops, demand-based scaling, CDK/Terraform, IAM, ECS, EKS, Lambda, Step, Batch, SQS/SNS, EC2, Fargate etc.
Aware of Linux package installation and system troubleshooting
Startup experience preferred; proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Strong leadership skills with a collaborative, results-driven approach.
Experience in both strategy and hands-on execution across marketing functions.
Passion for social impact and aligning business goals with a larger mission.
Strong analytical skills and ability to derive insights from data.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Flexibility and adaptability to navigate ambiguity and drive results.
MS degree preferred.
