People Operations Intern

The Opportunity

Paid remote internship position available in Summer 2022. As the People Operations Intern, you will provide support to implement new systems and processes as the organization continues to grow and globalize. You will be exposed to a variety of projects, which may include: systems implementation, documentation review, form and policy reconciliations, and other projects as they come available. You will help with the strategic development and direction of the team and will make significant contributions to new systems development, including in collaboration with other practice areas at Abnormal.

What you’ll do:

People Technology & Systems

• Identify trends in employee queries and propose solutions to simplify or automate frequently asked questions/answers
• Contribute to Global and regional projects focused on process automation, optimization, and improving the employee experience
• Actively contribute to building our knowledge base on Confluence for employees to encourage self-service

Employee Experience

• Support global and domestic virtual social events to foster an engaging employee experience
• Help the team build learning and development programs to help foster employee growth
• Assist with creating employee groups/community channels

Onboarding

• Work with different stakeholders to organize and strategize new hire buddy program
• Help streamline the onboarding process by working with our Onboarding Coordinator by creating documentation for all new hires

Experience you’ll need:

• Currently enrolled in university as a full time student or anticipated graduation date before 2023
• Self-starters who are results oriented, innovative, curious and who take initiative and risks
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Previous experience working in a remote organization
• Bonus points if you worked with Confluence, Greenhouse, Rippling or another Applicant Tracking Systems/Human Resources Information Systems
• Previous internships at a start-up organization
• Experience with Google Sheets or Excel
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of HR information.
