About the job
About us:
Fieldguide is establishing a new state of trust for global commerce and capital markets through automating and streamlining the work of assurance and audit practitioners specifically within cybersecurity, privacy, and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance). Put simply, we build software for the people who enable trust between businesses.
We’re based in San Francisco, CA, but built as a remote-first company that enables you to do your best work from anywhere. We're backed by top investors including Bessemer Venture Partners, 8VC, Y Combinator, Floodgate, Elad Gil, Justin Kan, Qasar Younis, Eric Ries, and more.
We value diversity — in backgrounds and in experiences. We need people from all backgrounds and walks of life to help build the future of audit and advisory. Fieldguide’s team is inclusive, driven, humble and supportive. We are deliberate and self-reflective about the kind of team and culture that we are building, seeking teammates that are not only strong in their own aptitudes but care deeply about supporting each other's growth.
As an early-stage start-up employee, you’ll have the opportunity to build out the future of business trust. We make audit practitioners’ lives easier by eliminating up to 50% of their work and giving them better work-life balance. If you share our values and enthusiasm for building a great culture and product, you will find a home at Fieldguide.
About the role:
As our Vice President, People, you will play a critical role in building and shaping Fieldguide’s dynamic culture. Reporting into our CEO/Co-Founder, the role will sit on the executive team and be a strategic partner across all business units for hiring, retaining, and enabling top talent. We view the People function and our culture as one of the most integral components of Fieldguide, and we’re looking for a leader to take us to the next level.
You will oversee all People functions at Fieldguide, including but not limited to people operations, talent acquisition, employee relations, onboarding, performance management, total rewards, learning and development, and diversity and inclusion.
What you’ll do:
Develop and execute a comprehensive people strategy that supports the company's growth and aligns with our core values.
Sit on Fieldguide’s executive leadership team and act as a strategic partner to ensure people strategy aligns with business objectives and supports the overall growth and success of the organization.
Build, develop, and lead high-performing People Operations and Recruiting teams.
Foster a positive, diverse, and inclusive company culture that attracts and retains top talent.
Oversee recruitment strategy, as well as employer branding, workforce planning, and recruitment policies.
Build and optimize People Ops processes and workflows for a positive employee experience.
Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and well-being.
Own Fieldguide’s international expansion efforts, developing HR practices and strategies for expansion in line with local regulations.
Leverage data and analytics to measure People metrics, identify trends, and inform strategic decision-making.
About you:
Proven track record as a VP People, Head of People, or equivalent role at a high-growth SaaS startup.
At least 5 years of experience leading both HR and Recruiting functions.
Experience leading an early stage startup through significant growth.
Expertise in several of the following functions: people operations, talent acquisition, employee relations, onboarding and offboarding, organizational design, performance management, total rewards, learning and development, and diversity and inclusion.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic people plans aligned with business objectives.
Experience leading international expansion efforts, including at least one of the following regions: EMEA, APAC, and LATAM.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization, including at the executive and board level.
Experience building an inclusive, engaging company culture in a distributed, remote environment.
Experience developing DEI frameworks and initiatives.
