Quality Manager - Medical Devices

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Quality Manager to join our MDRQ Quality team to focus on supporting, maintaining and improving our ISO 13485-certified Quality Management System (QMS). In this role, you will own or support a number of key QMS processes, such as internal audits, document management or copy review.

You will directly interact with many internal and external stakeholders, including Engineering, leadership and regulators, to develop or maintain quality processes for our global and local medical device initiatives.

You will be at the forefront of making tactical and operational medical device quality decisions that directly impact on the success of Babylon. You will have a chance to interpret and define Babylon’s approach to one of the newest areas of regulations: the EU MDR, medical device software and Artificial Intelligence.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

• Own, support and improve specific QMS processes and procedures. Examples include owning or supporting internal audits, document control or copy review
• Monitor Babylon’s compliance with the assigned QMS processes and procedures, working with the stakeholders to generate and document the required evidence
• Present the evidence at Quality Management Review or similar forums
• Own the IT systems that support the assigned processes
• Escalate non-compliance to the MDRQ Director or other Managers
• Train these processes, as required
• Support other Quality and Regulatory tasks, initiatives or MDRQ activities as required

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• At least 4 years' of experience in the Medical Device industry with at least 2 of these years in a Quality capacity
• Understanding of European and UK Quality requirements laid out in the MDD and MDR, and EN ISO 13485:2016
• Expertise in quality frameworks outside Europe, for example in US or Asia, and understanding of MDSAP, would be advantageous but is not essential
• Understanding of, or willingness to learn, agile software development processes for medical devices and related services
• Diligent, thorough reviewer of Quality documentation and strategy, and good at providing constructive feedback
• Willingness to develop practical approaches to Quality, regulations and software development
• Good IT and software skills, required for supporting QMS systems, as well as to understand Babylon’s products
