Ling LinThe Role
Who are we?
Grip exists because we think it’s weird that we only learn about our hormones when something is really wrong. 40% of people with ovaries suffer from hormonal issues, and today’s approach of ‘here’s what we do for the average person’ just doesn’t cut it. We believe you should get access to information about your body whenever and wherever you want.
Our first product focuses on fertility. We offer an at home fertility test which helps us understand who’s at risk of hormonal issues through a finger prick blood analysis. Grip is more than a test - we’re a community of people with ovaries who want to take control of their health, whether you want kids or not.
Grip’s founding team is made up of a doctor, an early stage investor, and an experienced product manager. The founding team has worked at Entrepreneur First, NHS, St. Antonius Hospital, Amazon, OnePlus, TransferWise, and Groupon. We are venture-backed by investors behind companies such as Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Entrepreneur First, and Songkick.
*We are looking for Consultation Doctors, MD. *
Fertility and female hormones are complex, and information about your fertility and reproductive health can often feel overwhelming and sometimes even scary. An important part of what we do at Grip is making sure that our customers understand what their results mean, and interpret their reports in the right context.
Every Grip customer also gets a free online consultation with a medical doctor. You help our customers read their reports correctly, interpret their results, answer questions about female and fertility health, and help them prepare for follow up analyses with their own GPs, if necessary.
You’re part of the Grip team, and we expect you to work a minimum of 8 hours s a week. This role can be done from anywhere, as long as you’re able to commit to CET time zones. Consultations are done via secure (video) conferencing. We’d love for you to come hang out with us in the Amsterdam office every now and then, but you don’t have to.
Who you are
- You’re a medical doctor. You have experience with and like talking to patients, and are a strong communicator.
- You’re interested in female health and fertility, which shows through either research projects or previous experience.
- You care about helping women understand their health proactively, and are excited about the direction in which the medical world is changing.
- You like responsibility, and don't need hand-holding.
- You speak English, Dutch, and/or German
- You can commit to working at Grip for at least 6 months
What we offer:
- A chance to shape the future of female health.
- An interesting, exciting work environment, and being part of a promising early stage startup.
- Flexibility in choosing your own set work day
- You’ll be working directly with the founders.
- You’ll be paid 1,000 euros / month, for committing 8 hours per week.
Grip works for people with ovaries, but we welcome applications from all genders.
