About the role
Ionpath is scaling its manufacturing infrastructure for its MIBIscope and associated sample preparation Reagents and is looking for Sr. Buyer and Planner to help with that effort. This position reports to the Director of Manufacturing.
About You
Serve as a Planning/Procurement partner supporting all designated functions, conduct planning and purchasing activities. Demonstrates understanding of order receipt and entry, material procurement, order release, assembly, shipment, and invoice payment.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain the production plan. Responsible for ensuring material availability to support the build plan. Coordinate purchasing activities with other departments to maintain inventory at planned levels. Evaluate inventory levels and adjust order requirements accordingly.
- Process purchase requisitions, purchase change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers
- Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity; monitor approval of invoices for payment, receipt reconciliation and invoice discrepancies.
- Resolve work order variances and determine/track root cause. Work with Cost Accounting for month-end close.
- Evaluate vendor quotes and services to determine compatibility with company objectives.
- Negotiate with suppliers on pricing and delivery times.
- Evaluate effectiveness of suppliers in terms of pricing, on time delivery performance, and quality.
- Review opportunities for new supply sources and suitability of materials offered.
- Identify potential supply risks and inventory exposures by aligning supply chain processes with production plan milestones/targets.
- Help refine the implementation of the Netsuite ERP system.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years or 10 years of equivalent work experience.
- Complete, in depth knowledge of Procure to Pay flows.
- Purchasing experience using an ERP system is required, preferably NetSuite.
- Planning experience in instrumentation and NPI not required, but strongly preferred.
- Understanding of legal concepts as related to vendor agreement contracts.
- Understanding of accounting/finance practices.
- Excellent relationship management skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with suppliers, and internal business customers, and senior management.
- Enjoy a startup mentality and environment, able to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
