About the role
Ionpath is scaling its manufacturing infrastructure for its MIBIscope and associated sample preparation Reagents and is looking for an experienced Director of Manufacturing to lead this effort. To combine both flexibility and control Ionpath will use a largely outsourced manufacturing model with in-house integration and final test. The Director of Manufacturing reports to the CEO and has full responsibility for all Manufacturing budgets, infrastructure, activities, processes and outcomes and will work closely with all other company departments.
About you
You are a seasoned, proactive and hands-on manufacturing manager with experience owning production and supply chain in a fast-moving organization. You enjoy working across departments and are comfortable managing a diverse group of suppliers to achieve operational excellence. You know how to create accurate forecasts, how to control inventory, how to manage the production and delivery of instruments and consumables, and how to engineer a robust and cost-effective supply chain because you’ve done it before.
Core Duties:
- Deliver high quality products on time and to budget.
- Design the optimal manufacturing model for Ionpath’s mix of Instruments and Reagents to enable and manage strong expected revenue growth over the next 5 years.
- Hire and lead a team of A-level managers and individual contributors to implement the manufacturing model and to execute on all of Manufacturing’s responsibilities.
- Complete the implementation of Netsuite ERP, and the integration of Arena PLM and Salesforce Service Cloud.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering and Marketing to prepare for the launch and ramp up of next generation Ionpath products.
- Select contract manufacturers for all box and subassembly builds, negotiate prices and terms, and monitor their performance.
- Set, monitor, and improve KPIs for all Manufacturing functions. Benchmark yourself against best-in-class industry leaders.
- Report on progress, challenges and plans to Sr. Management with clarity, conciseness and purpose.
- Pursue operational excellence with the implementation of new or improved production and supply chain processes.
Experience:
- 10+ years high-tech instrumentation manufacturing experience
- Strong leadership skills.
- Proven track of record in hiring, developing and retaining top talent.
- Implementation of ERP and PLM systems.
- Excellent project management, time management, critical thinking, and judgment skills.
- Experience managing the supply chain for Reagents products a plus.
- Start-up experience and life science tools experience a plus.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, preferably in a technical, business or manufacturing related field.
