Families in the top 10% of incomes hold $432,000 Middle income individuals have failed to grow more wealth due to a myriad of barriers to entry, most notably not enough in investable assets to receive and afford guidance from a financial professional Retail Investors (often referred to as dumb money vs institutional investors) are ill equipped to invest as effectively and successfully as professionals or those with managed accounts In 2020, there were 2, 042 U.S and 7,602 Global ETFs. The NYSE and Nasdaq have 7,754 and 4,448 tradable names, respectively. There are also 7,636 mutual funds as well. That’s too many options to make sense of. While low cost, self directed investing accounts and robo- advisory (e.g. Robinhood, Betterment, Acorns) features have become ubiquitous, they don’t close the knowledge and confidence gap. It’s not the same as being advised.
