Three years ago, we were running an eCommerce company, and our customers were complaining about shipping being too expensive and theft stealing their deliveries.

One of them said she would love to pick up her parcels at the local Convenience, Pharmacy, or Grocery store instead of home delivery. Shipping this way would be about $3 cheaper as it would not be residential but commercial delivery.

As we gave this idea a try, we modified our checkout, adding a local pickup shipping option. The results were fantastic. About 28% of our online shoppers switched to the new shipping option; our sales increased by 15%.
So we decided to create a platform for any online retailer (like the one on Shopify) to utilize this shipping option.
Since then, the platform called Via.Delivery has been created

It aggregated 36,000+ pickup locations nationwide, like those in Walgreens, Dollar General, CVS, FedEx offices, etc
Partnered with FedEx for a discounted delivery
Created plugins for Shopify, Woocommerce, Magento, Shipstaition, and other popular platforms

Online shoppers choose it nationwide, with California, Texas, New York, Illinois, and Washington in the lead. Mostly urban and suburban areas.
And they love it as NPS score is 75-80, while nationwide carriers usually have NPS 30-40.

We expect that five years from now, Buy Online Pickup Anywhere will be among the must-have shipping options for any online store, as it already happened with Expedited, Next day, and Same day delivery options.
