UrSure careers

We have two urine tests that measure adherence to the drug PrEP. One is a lab based test (commercialized and being scaled) and the other is a point of care test (under development).

To give an example of how it works, consider the following scenario from a patient in our Philadelphia HIV prevention clinic. C had been adherent to his PrEP medication according to his urine tests. On one visit, we found he was not adherent, so the cofounders of UrSure (both providers) asked him what happened. He told us he had come out of the closet to his parents, been kicked out of his house, and was now staying on a friend's couch. He did not bring his PrEP with him. We restarted his prescription, and he returned to perfect adherence. UrSure's urine test allowed us to find out this critical piece of information.
