Own and enhance the bank's integrated financial model across the income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, capital, liquidity, and regulatory forecasting
Develop long-range forecasts, scenario analyses, and planning assumptions that support strategic planning and regulatory readiness
Support strategic planning by evaluating new products, funding strategies, and balance sheet initiatives through financial modeling and scenario analysis

• Research machine learning and statistical approaches that improve the predictive performance of unsecured underwriting models.
• Design, implement, and evaluate model enhancements using rigorous experimentation and validation methods.

• Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for Upstart's Communications Platform, balancing immediate business needs with a long-term platform vision.
• Partner with engineering to build shared platform capabilities, including messaging APIs, delivery infrastructure, governance controls, and communication data models that support multiple products and channels.

• Build and maintain user-facing features in our React Native mobile apps across iOS (and Android, as we expand).
• Design and implement mobile components and subsystems that are performant, maintainable, and scalable across platforms.

• Build and maintain borrower-facing web experiences using React and TypeScript, translating designs and product requirements into clean, responsive, accessible interfaces.
• Work across the stack to connect frontend experiences to backend services and APIs, contributing to full-stack features that span the borrower journey.

• Own the design and delivery of large, complex frontend and full-stack initiatives using React and TypeScript, from planning and sequencing through launch and long-term maintenance.
• Set technical direction for the team's frontend architecture and full-stack patterns, owning a 3–6 month roadmap and proactively addressing systemic gaps that threaten team effectiveness.

• Design, build, and operate privacy engineering services that support user control, data governance, anonymization, pseudonymization, retention, deletion, and auditability
• Implement privacy-by-design patterns and data minimization controls across Upstart’s products, services, data pipelines, and machine learning systems

• Design and operate a fleet of Kubernetes (EKS) clusters across production, staging, and ephemeral environments, ensuring reliability and high availability

• Deliver critical user-facing features that improve loan application and rate check experiences—directly driving improvements in conversion and funding form submission metrics.
• Maintain full-stack web applications through monitoring of key system metrics such as latency and error rates at scale
