Upsolve careers
Upsolve is the first digital product to automate personal bankruptcy for low-income Americans who can't afford a lawyer. Our site guides users through the Chapter 7 bankruptcy process and assembles the official bankruptcy forms, which only need light-touch attorney supervision before the client files on their own behalf. The product is currently distributed through legal aid organizations who pay directly, or through grants, to use our platform. The product is free for debtors.
By leveraging technology, Upsolve cuts the attorney time to file from ~10 hours to ~2 hours. This allows legal aid organizations to multiply the number of clients they are able to provide with a fresh start. Our New York pilot program cleared ~3M in debt for ~60 users.
Bankruptcy allows users to work without fear of wage garnishment, live without harassment from creditors, and improve credit scores and housing/employment opportunities. We help low-income Americans get back on their feet, and stay there.
