Culture and benefits at The Essential

Culture overview

We're a small team and we care deeply about the culture that we're building. Here are some of the most important values we want everyone to have: Meaning Deep thought — deliberate action. We love people who find meaning in the work that they do. We think what we're doing at Move is large and significant and we want to work with people who agree. We never want working at Move to be "just a job" for anyone. Craft Quality is never an accident. Quality > Quantity always. We care a lot about flawless execution and we love people who hold themselves to a challenging quality standard. We love moving fast but we never put that above doing the right thing. Truth See-through transparency. We tell the truth as often as we can. This means presenting things as transparently as possible (especially in situations where people might normally feel the need to embellish or distract). We think the truth makes everything easier and we don't think you need to be impolite or reductionist to tell the truth. We practice this everywhere- with each other, with customers, suppliers etc. Vision Clear-eyed and big-hearted. We like people who have a vision for their lives, their work and the company. We think that the ability to zoom out and look at things on a grand scale is an aid, not a detractor, from quality execution. We practice this constantly by asking ourselves "How will I view this decision in 5 years?"
